March is National Nutrition Month®

National Nutrition Month® is an annual nutrition education and information campaign sponsored by the American Dietetic Association. The campaign helps increase awareness of the importance of good nutrition and physical activity.

Just wondering, will most insurance plans pay to meet with a registered dietician and if so, does it require a referral?

Hi Terri!

Many health insurance plans now cover visits to a RD and some don't require a doctor's referral. However, I would check with your insurance company to make sure!

Medicare started reimbursing medical nutrition therapy for people with diabetes and kidney disease about 7 years ago.
